Job Description
Kingsway Locums is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join a friendly GP practice team in Swindon.
The practice offers an organised clinical environment with clear triage processes, supportive GPs for advice, and a strong nursing team to share knowledge and maintain consistent standards. Admin support is reliable, systems are used well, and appointment templates are set up to help you focus on patient care rather than unnecessary bureaucracy.
Up to 3 days a week with flexibility on which days you cover.
Role Snapshot
• Hands-on minor illness and same-day work in a well-supported primary care setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess and manage minor illness presentations across a range of age groups.
• Provide treatment plans, health advice, and clear safety netting to patients.
• Order and interpret investigations and act on results appropriately.
• Refer to other services using local pathways and agreed practice processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and consistent clinical coding.
• Work closely with the wider team to support safe patient flow and access.
Requirements
• NMC registration with relevant Nurse Practitioner experience in primary care.
• Clinical confidence in assessment, history taking, and management planning.
• Ability to work within scope and escalate appropriately when required.
• Familiarity with UK primary care systems and high-quality record keeping.
• Current compliance including DBS and mandatory training.
Working Pattern
• Up to 3 days per week with flexible sessions.
• Option for regular ongoing bookings or short-term support as needed.
• Session times can be agreed to suit clinic demand and your availability.
